Why We Offer Rebates
Water conservation is one of the most efficient ways to ensure we have enough water for our growing population. To make conservation easier for homeowners Weber Basin Water provides rebates for various products that help save water.
The amount of water that needs to be applied to landscapes to keep plants alive and healthy changes depending on the time of year and weather. In Utah we typically need to apply much more water in July and August than we do in May or September. Remembering to adjust the schedule on an irrigation timer every time the weather changes can be a challenge. Smart controllers are irrigation timers that do it for you. They connect to local weather stations through the internet and automatically adjust the irrigation schedule without the homeowner having to remember to do it. Many smart controllers also have an app you can download to your phone, giving you control of your system no matter where you are as long as you can get on the internet.
If you decided to upgrade your old controller to a new EPA Water Sense approved smart controller Weber Basin is willing to rebate you half of the price of the controller up to $150. Rebates are available from February 1 to October 31.

Commercial Smart Controllers
Commercial Smart Controllers are much larger than those used by homeowners and have the capacity to control more stations. These also connect to weather stations and adjust automatically depending on the weather. If you are a city entity or business owner you may qualify for a rebate on one of these controllers. These controllers are intended for larger sites or where multiple sites need to be controlled by a single facility manager. To qualify for these rebates please call the District to make sure funding is still available and how large your project is so that we can ensure rebate funds are available for your project. Rebates in this category can be as high as $1,500 per controller.

Toilets use vastly different amounts of water per flush depending on the style, brand, and year they were produced. Many toilets installed in 1994 or before use double the amount of water per flush than newer, more efficient models.
If you have a toilet that was installed in 1994 or before and are interested in upgrading to a newer, more efficient model Weber Basin is willing to rebate you $75. If your home was built after 1994 you do NOT qualify for this rebate. Toilets that are 1.6 gallons per flush or less do not qualify to be replaced, the purpose of this rebate is to replace high-flow toilets with low-flow models. Rebates are only available after the new toilet has been purchased and installed and the old one replaced. PHOTO DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED! To complete the application you will need to take a picture of your old toilet BEFORE it has been removed and a picture of your new toilet AFTER it is installed. Do not forget to take these photos, they will be required in the application and forgetting to do so may result in disqualification from the rebate.
There is not a list of low-flow toilets that qualify for the rebate. All new toilets are considered low-flow as a result of changes in plumbing code.
