We are looking for outgoing individuals that are interested in leading field trip and other special tours of the District’s water treatment plant at our Layton office facility. The District hosts school field trips for mostly 4th graders, but also conducts tours for 7th and 9th grade science classes as well. The tour guides receive training and direction on the key elements that need to be discussed as they lead a walking tour around the treatment facility. The tours finish up with a brief tour through the Learning Garden (a low water demonstration garden) with talking points about water conservation and the need for more efficient outdoor water use. Individuals in this position need to be comfortable leading tours of groups up to 50 people (mostly kids). The scheduling for this position is variable with several tours a week happening in early fall and spring, with very few tours happening in November through January. More details will be discussed and questions answered for interested applicants. This is a great position for someone who only wants a few hours a week, mostly in the morning hours.
